Cute Crochet Amigurumi Halloween and a Free Last Minute Crochet Pumpkin Pattern

Halloween is getting closer. I like all cute and kawaii. It also includes Halloween.
My Halloween set - up for this year on photos.

It´s a season worth celebrating with handmade stuff, for example you could make a lovely bunch of little amigurumi crochet pumpkins and set up a scene with all those lovely colors. I also place real pumpkins, of course, there´s all shapes and sizes and what colors, OMG! (carved pumpkins to come) and my dear fuchsia is also taking part in this scene (in it´s autumn colors). We had the first snow as well in Estonia.

Click on the pics to see large photos!

This is the smallest pumpkin I´ve even made. I made it look like a real pumpkin with just a small touch of artist´s acrylic paint.

If you have an hour or so to spare and you´d like to make a quick DIY Pumpkin, I´ll give you a pattern for an Amigurumi Crochet Pumpkin – Works up really quickly and is fun to make.

You´ll need 2mm or 2,5mm crochet hook
DK or Fingering weight yarn (all shades of orange, even with a touch of brown and yellow). Some yarn for a stalk, something greyish.
Tapestry needle and here we go:

1) 6 sts. into magic ring (6)
2) 6 x Inc (12)
3) [Inc + 1 sc] all around (18)
4) [Inc + 2 sc] all around (24)
5) [Inc + 3 sc] all around (30)
6) [Inc + 4 sc] all around (36)
7-11) sc all around (36)
12) [Invdec + 4 sc] all around (30)
13) [Invdec + 3 sc] all around (24)
14) [Invdec + 2 sc] all around (18)
Do the medium stuffing
15) [Invdec + 1 sc] all around (12)
16) Invdec all around (6)

sc- single crochet
Inc- 2 single crochet into one
Invdec - invisible decreasing - 2 single crochet together.

Make a „neat finish“ Have a look how to do it in here: finishing up an amigurumi piece, leave at least 30 cm of yarn to continue:

Sew through the middle of the ball

and go around to the bottom again,

and right through the ball again. Tighten it a bit.

Go all the way round for a total of 4 times. Make a knot, hide the yarn

Start making the stalk

You can leave a st. undone here and there

Hide the yarn like this and...you´ll have a lovely curved stalk

If you want a lovely Kawaii Crochet Pumpkin, then follow the pattern, but place eyes instead and there´s no need to tighten the pumpkin with the yarn . And that´s it. Add some pink cheeks and little mouse to make it look like a kawaii:)

Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Crocheting!

Amigurumi Lamb and Purple Storage Basket

Amigurumi Sheep

Lexie Lamb enjoys being photographed. I just felt like taking those photos this weekend, because everybody needs time for themselves and suddenly I discovered myself going trough Buddha quotes and found one for me for this weekend: "your work is to discover your world and then with all your heart give yourself to it."
I designed Amigurumi Sheep Pattern just a year ago and I like it a lot. This crochet toy doesn´t need much yarn and pattern is easy to follow with step by step photos.

And doing handmade gifts. It was a nice request from a 8 year old girl who wanted a purple storage basket for herself because I´ve done several for birthdays and one for her sister as well. It´s just lovely! Purple storage basket almost done. I´m using cotton tube (80% recycled cotton) and pure linen yarn (greenish) to make this storage basket.

It´s October in Estonia and nature is offereing beautiful colors this time of year! Hope to capture that as well :)

Think Pink October/ Amigurumi Bunny Brooch/Amigurumi Piglet

As my terrace is all pink on the first day of October:
I don´t know anything about flowers but I love them dearly! Decorate your own soul, as they say.
Little Pink Bunny Brooch as well as my travel compagnon this summer Piglet (check out our little adventures this summer on my Instagram) joined with me. And I love fuchsias, they are so attractive. Pink is nice, fragile, feminine, tender, cute, sweet, charming, romantic, caring. It´s a color of hope and being strong!
And of course, I adore piglets. I find them endearing and pink bunny on black coat? Oh yes!!!

Oui!!!

Have a nice Octobre!
Je vous souhaite un très joli Octobre!

Embrace Autumn - Hello, fall!

I like autumn because of it´s colors, crisp air and pretty leaves, just beautiful. There is a desire to create, to improvise, to experiment - to reinvigorate.  That´s what I´ve been up to lately because it´s always important to upskill.

Oh, those vivid colors. Crochet rug in process with beautiful mint green eco-friendly tube yarn.

Big things often have small beginnings!

Silk and Cotton and a Teddy Bear - it´s a boy, again!

Lucas the Teddy is a teddy bear that I can just crochet over and over again and I´m never get tired - all teddy bears often have this impact on me - I just adore teddy bears and want to try different yarns and sizes (one example in process). This teddy bear is crocheted from silk and cotton yarn. I got this yarn on my trip to Finland and when I saw this silk and cotton yarn I knew this is a yarn I want to try out (you should see my desk, it´s full of yarns I want to crochet with). It´s a lovely grey color with a soft pastel shade. (I always like grey, you can combine it with every color, just so convenient). I used 2,5mm crochet hook (Clover) and 6mm black safety eyes. Nose (watch the video how to embroider the teddy´s nose) is embroidered with cotton thread (I can use a variety of shades for a different look). I love my little terrasse full of flowers (getting more and more obsessed by them). Autumn is coming but I still like to sit even for 10 minutes to enjoy my tisane :)

Thank you for stopping by! Laura

White Lucas The Teddy Bear

I´ve just finished a custom order for a baby to be born in few month. Before heading off to Canada I took some photos of him today at the beach. I just adore Baltic Sea and those windy days as well. Today there was a warm wind. Will share some photos taken with you as well.
I´ve used Sirdar DK, White Wispers and 2.5 mm crochet hook and Lucas the Teddy Bear PATTERN.
As to my creations I really take time to assemble body parts and also stuffing is really important, to conclude it´s not just crochet it´s your time and good emotions that make your teddy bear special. There´s something about teddy bears that nothing else has, they really can be your lifetime friends.

Have a great life!

New Amigurumi Tutorial - Chibi Fox Pattern

New Amigurumi Chibi Fox Pattern is out now

CHIBI FOX PATTERN to be purchased from my Etsy shop

Amigurumi fox is something I´ve wanted to create for a long time and a baby like version with a big head and little body is out now with a small modification on materials used. As I´m fond of chibi style and chibi fox looks so lovely I got ispired to create this little amigurumi chibi fox. Designing took time but I´m really happy with the result. I used 2.5mm clover crochet hook and main color is from Debbie Bliss (Rialto DK), merino. I also used 8mm black safety eyes for this figure and some white(ish) suede for the first version. This Crochet Fox tutorial comes with very detailed instructions on 10 pages with lot of photos to help you along the process. Size is approx. 8 cm/3.15 inc. It means one ball of yarn is more than enough for one fox:) (I got both foxes out of 50 g of a yarn ball).

A reflection? No, there are two versions, first one is with glued felt or suede parts which in some cases is more appropriate and practical but if you like more natural style and prefer crochet troughout the process then I´ve done another version, little embroidered cheeks and working with two colors on body. Everything fully explained in my pattern as well.

Oh, I like those tails :)

Thank you :)
