Free Crochet Heart Pattern - Valentines Day!

Valentine´s Day is right around the corner. On 2016 I published a Free Crochet Heart Pattern
And I want to show you my this year´s amigurumi hearts, all made with this free amigurumi pattern. It´s super easy and quick crochet heart. You can make them as decortaions, little gifts or even turn your little crochet hearts into hairties, very practical as well. Crochet hearts can also be just as small gifts to hand out everybody you like. Kids love them, I know :)
And it doesn´t have to be only February, 14th to enjoy making and sharing those little crochet hearts. Always a very popular choice a year round.

My Amigurumi Crochet Hearts made this year, and will make more, for sure!

These crochet hearts are turned into hairties. Beautiful combination of different soft colors.
Katia Bamboo, 2.5mm crochet hook, some stuffing and a hairtie.

This red crochet heart is crocheted up with a very small hook, 1,5mm, tiny crochet heart is rigid and there are no gaps between stitches.

Hope you´ll enjoy making your crochet amigurumi hearts.

Cute Crochet Amigurumi Halloween and a Free Last Minute Crochet Pumpkin Pattern

Halloween is getting closer. I like all cute and kawaii. It also includes Halloween.
My Halloween set - up for this year on photos.

It´s a season worth celebrating with handmade stuff, for example you could make a lovely bunch of little amigurumi crochet pumpkins and set up a scene with all those lovely colors. I also place real pumpkins, of course, there´s all shapes and sizes and what colors, OMG! (carved pumpkins to come) and my dear fuchsia is also taking part in this scene (in it´s autumn colors). We had the first snow as well in Estonia.

Click on the pics to see large photos!

This is the smallest pumpkin I´ve even made. I made it look like a real pumpkin with just a small touch of artist´s acrylic paint.

If you have an hour or so to spare and you´d like to make a quick DIY Pumpkin, I´ll give you a pattern for an Amigurumi Crochet Pumpkin – Works up really quickly and is fun to make.

You´ll need 2mm or 2,5mm crochet hook
DK or Fingering weight yarn (all shades of orange, even with a touch of brown and yellow). Some yarn for a stalk, something greyish.
Tapestry needle and here we go:

1) 6 sts. into magic ring (6)
2) 6 x Inc (12)
3) [Inc + 1 sc] all around (18)
4) [Inc + 2 sc] all around (24)
5) [Inc + 3 sc] all around (30)
6) [Inc + 4 sc] all around (36)
7-11) sc all around (36)
12) [Invdec + 4 sc] all around (30)
13) [Invdec + 3 sc] all around (24)
14) [Invdec + 2 sc] all around (18)
Do the medium stuffing
15) [Invdec + 1 sc] all around (12)
16) Invdec all around (6)

sc- single crochet
Inc- 2 single crochet into one
Invdec - invisible decreasing - 2 single crochet together.

Make a „neat finish“ Have a look how to do it in here: finishing up an amigurumi piece, leave at least 30 cm of yarn to continue:

Sew through the middle of the ball

and go around to the bottom again,

and right through the ball again. Tighten it a bit.

Go all the way round for a total of 4 times. Make a knot, hide the yarn

Start making the stalk

You can leave a st. undone here and there

Hide the yarn like this and...you´ll have a lovely curved stalk

If you want a lovely Kawaii Crochet Pumpkin, then follow the pattern, but place eyes instead and there´s no need to tighten the pumpkin with the yarn . And that´s it. Add some pink cheeks and little mouse to make it look like a kawaii:)

Enjoy!

Happy Halloween!

Happy Crocheting!

Amigurumi Free Seamless Octopus Pattern - DIY Crochet Tutorial - Octopus in one piece, step-by-step

Free Amigurumi Seamless Octupus Pattern

Here you can find my version of an amigurumi octupus.
Little amigurumi octupodes are great for prematurely born babies - they can crab tentacles. A crocheted octopus can also be baby´s first toy to hold and to play with.
It´a known fact that babies like to grab or hold little things in their hands. My son was sleeping better with a ladybug in his both hands to feel secure.

I´m making these tiny amigurumi octopodes for pre-born babies and will share my version with step-by step photos to help you to create these lovely toys for your loved one or try to find a hospital closest to you and donate them for ones in need.

I used Madame Tricote Camilla yarn and 2mm crochet hook, tentacles can´t be longer than 22 cm. My octopus pattern has tenacles max. 14 cm. Diameter is approx. 3 cm. If you use 2,5 or 3mm crochet hook then your octopus will be bigger.

This amigurumi octopus pattern is the ultimate simplification of the real octopus, but I like it in this way. I´ve always liked minimalism, eyes can be added later, little embroidered eyes. This free pattern is seamless - in one piece, that makes it safer for a baby and easier to make.

(these were the first amigurumi octopodes I made)
Octopus
1) Form a magic ring with 6 sc
2) 6 x Inc (12)
3) [1 Inc + 1 sc] all around (18)
4) [1 Inc + 2 sc] all around (24)
5) sc all around (24)
6) [1 Inc + 3 sc] all around (30)
7-9) sc all around (30)
10) [1 Invdec + 3 sc] all around (24)
11) sc all around (24)

(always click on the photo to enlarge)

Now, start to make tentacles, there will be 8 tentacles, octo :)
For that start to make a chain, 30 chain stitches, then

into 2nd stitch from the hook make 1 Inc - 2 single crochet into one, repeat the same all along, you´ll have the curly look

then make 3 sc on head and start to make another tentacle, this time 35 chain stitches.

Make the same sequence all around, 30 ch. st. and 35 ch st and 2 single crochet into every st.

Continue without counting rows (Stuff gradually, I used sheep wool, a natural filling, can be washed as well): 1 single crochet, 2 tog. (Invdec) up to that point you´ll have 6 or 7 stitches left, make 1 slip stitch at the end, cut the yarn leaving a lengh of yarn

Finish off with "neat finish"
Pick up stitches left one by one with the yarn needle and pull them together to have a neat and proper finish.

well done, your little octopus is ready :)

PS! You might want to embroider eyes on your amigurumi octopus.

and a special edition: two more rows added to head and tentacles are a bit different.

and all together:

ENJOY!
